This is a great picture of my daughter Gabriella on the far right looking on at Tume from Mongolia and Lillian from Uganda. For 9 years my children have grown up in a home filled with the sounds, smells, tastes and languages of over 100 nations. I am grateful that our family has had the opportunity and privilege of enjoying the beauty that God himself has deposited all around us. How much do we reflect upon the beauty around us in different cultures? Do we enjoy or resent diversity? Are we quick to embrace those who are markedly different from us? Are we willing to do things differently in terms of diet, music, interests for the sake of embracing others into our world of relationships? What type of people are your friends? Is there room for more diversity in your life? Are all your friends speaking the same language? Do all your friends enjoy the same foods.... music..... dress? How many friends have you made in the last year that are not "JUST LIKE YOU?" Let me know what you think!
